Growing up in Eugene, i remember Fairy Tale Theater along with The Ramblin Rod show (I still miss watching that show!). Both were great! The Tarcov/Gorey Rumplestilskin book is by far the best version out there. Other great books I remember from early 70's childhood were The Rainbow Goblins, The Fox & the Tomten, etc.... Congrats on the 1st edition find!

Hey Paige :) Yeah, I wanted an even finer point but if I use India ink and a pen nib on the wood sometimes it splatters so I stuck with felt tips. Maybe on the next two!

I don't think so, Jen. The photo is so blurry and hilariously off center though so it's hard to tell. I barely recognized myself! I found a few in my mom's stash from the square dancing but refuse to put those up here. Even I have standards :)

Am I in that soccer picture? I remember I was on a soccer team called the Strawberries, but didn't remember us being on the team together. If not, I'm sure they had strawberries every year. Such a fierce name for a soccer team!

I remember the sesquicentennial celebrations in 1986! I was shocked, when I left our dear state, to learn that people in other states knew nothing of Texas history. Such a shame!

Don't know nothin' about the fancy schmantzy art terms, but you are frighteningly goodlookin'.

I think it was Heidegger who talked about incorporating the aesthetic dimension, making your own life both a work of art and an act of insurrection against the mediocre status-quo. That might have been Nietzsche, but whoever it was that formulated the idea, you embody the concept nicely.
