Despite not having yet cooked this year’s green bean casserole for Thanksgiving, I managed to complete four new holiday-ish paintings this past weekend.

I started with a few sketches inspired by the beautiful Douglas Fir trees and other majestic beauties found out here in the

Then I added some watercolor.

And finally some ink outlines and paper ornaments from a variety of scrap paper, marbled antique paper, and origami paper. This actually took the most time because of my color choices. I felt like I was working on a quilt and figuring out patterns.

Oh, did I mention I mixed glitter in with the white paint for that added snow effect? And each tree is crowned with a golden halo. So sweet.

The originals all have homes but I’ve made card sets (with four red envelopes) that are available at my Etsy store or directly through me if you want a set.
